The speculations concerning offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien will intensify now that Alabama's season is over.

Over the past few weeks, O'Brien has been connected to the NFL.

O'Brien and the Patriots have "mutual interest," according to Tom Curran of NBC Sports in a recent interview with Kay Adams.

O'Brien's contributions are known to the Patriots. From 2007 to 2011, he performed a variety of jobs for their team.

Earlier this week, O'Brien made an attempt to put an end to the rumours by claiming,

"I haven't spoken to anyone in New England since last April."

O'Brien will have to accept that people will opine about his future as a coach now that the Sugar Bowl is in the past.

Since being fired by the Texans in 2020, O'Brien has not coached in the NFL. As a head coach, he had a 52-48 record.

Alabama will need to look for a new offensive play-caller if the Patriots decide to sign O'Brien for the 2023 season.
